How to Set Car Seat With No Base

Car-Seat-With-No-Base
Although it is best to use a car seat base with a car seat, there may be times when it is not possible when traveling. You may need to set your car seat in a taxi, uncles or friend's car or even on an airplane. It should be noted that there are car seats that can be set with no base --- Check your manual to be sure.

How to Set Car Seat With No Base:
  1. Place the seat back towards the rear. Car seats should always face the rear --- never go forward or sideways.
  2. Route the lap belt below the belt guide and belt and buckle.
  3. Ensure that the level line on the seat (if any) is level with the ground. Place a rolled towel under the front of the car seat if it is necessary to keep the seat stable and secure.
  4. Tighten the belt as much as possible by pulling the shoulder portion until it locks.
  5. Push the car seat and seat back seat arms and tighten the belt further.
  6. Make sure the belt is locked every time you squeeze. If not blocked, you may need to purchase a locking clip.
  7. Verify that you have done. Make sure the belt is tightened and locked, the car seat is stable and can be moved more than 1 inch from front to rear or side to side. If there is a line on the car seat to indicate the level to make sure it is level with the ground.
